Captain S I M Zahanyar, (E), psc, BN was born on 24 February 1965. His home district is Rangpur. He did his elementary studies in village school. Thereafter he went to Rajshahi Cadet College where he completed Higher Secondary education in 1982. He joined Navy in 1983. Thereafter he did his basic course in Bangladesh Naval Academy. He studied Engineering in Bangladesh University of Engg & Technology (BUET). Afterwards he did specialization course at Pakistan Navy Engineering College. He is a graduate of Defence Services Command & Staff College (DSC&SC), Mirpur. He did Masters in Defence Studies from National University.The officer served all types of naval vessels and staff appointments. He served as EO BNS KARNAPHULI, BNS SAGAR and BNS OSMAN. At Naval Headquarters he served as Deputy Director Naval Engineering (DDNE) and Deputy Director Technical Stores (DDTS). Captain Zahanyar did his first UN mission at Ivory Coast (UNOCI). He also served onboard BNS OSMAN under UN deployment (UNIFIL) at Lebanon.His last appointment was GM (Production) at BN Dockyard. Presently he is serving as GM (Planning & Design) at Dockyard and Engineering Works Limited, Narayanganj. Captain Zahanyar visited many countries such as India, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Ivory Coast, China, Malaysia, France, Turkey and Korea.In personal life he is married to Arifunnessa Zahan and blessed with a son and daughter.
Captain M Sharif Uddin Bhuiyan, (S), NGP, afwc, psc, BN joined Bangladesh Navy in 1985 and was commissioned in January 1988. He passed SSC and HSC from BAF Shaheen School, Dhaka. He did his basic training from Bangladesh Naval Academy (BNA), Junior Staff course from the same institution. He attended number of service courses at home and abroad; Long Logistic Management Course (LLMC) from India, Staff course from Defence Service Command and Staff College, Mirpur, Dhaka, Armed Forces War Course (AFWC) from National Defence College Mirpur in 2014 and many other courses.The officer served in various capacities during his long career which includes; Staff Officer in Area Level, Supply Officer of Establishment and ships, Deputy Director at Naval Law Dept, Deputy Director at DGDP, DGM (Finance) at KSY, Khulna and DEW Ltd, Narayanganj, Commanding Officer Naval Stores Depot. Chittagong. At Naval Headquarters he also served as Director Pay Pension & Accounts and Director Naval Education Services. Academically, he did graduation in Naval Science, LLB from Chittagong University, Masters in Defence Studies from National University, MBA from Preston University, USA, M. Phil (P-I) from Bangladesh University of Professional (BUP). Capt Sharif also served in UN Mission in Liberia as Staff Officer in UN Forces Headquarters. Recently, as recognition of his commendable service he has been awarded with Navy Peace Time Medal ‘Nau Gourab Padak’ (NGP). He visited several countries, few of them are; UK, UAE, KSA, Malaysia, Indonesia, Egypt, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, China, Singapore, Vietnam, India, Pakistan, Maldives, Sirlanka, Thailand etc. He is married and blessed with a daughter and a son.
Captain M Benjir Mahmud, (E), psc, BN joined Bangladesh Navy on 01 July 1988 and was commissioned in Engineering Branch in 1991. He got BSc engineering degree in mechanical from BUET. He did Marine Engineering Specialization Course from BNS SHAHEED MOAZZAM and System Engineering and Management Course from HMS SULTAN, UK. He performed as Instructor at Naval Academy. He served in various ships as Engineer Officer ranging from smaller ships to frigates. Captain Benjir completed Naval Staff Course from Mirpur. He performed Staff Officer’s duties and Deputy Director’s duties at Naval Headquarters in Technical Stores and Naval Engineering directorates respectively. He also served as General Manager (Production) in BN Dockyard. Captain Benjir served as Military Observer in DR Congo as well. He is currently appointed as General Manager (Production) at Dockyard and Engineering Works Ltd, Narayanganj.
Commander M Abu Bakar, (L), BN was commissioned in Bangladesh Navy 01 July 1995. He completed his BSc. Engineering degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from BUET. He did course on OTOMAT-MK-II missile and missile system from Italy. He also completed various courses from home and abroad. He served as an Electrical Officer onboard various ships of BN. He also worked in BN Dockyard and DGDP as ADP(Navy). He served as Chief Inspector of Naval Stores (CINS) before joining here. Presently he is appointed as Deputy General Manager (Electrical). He is happily married and blessed with two sons and a daughter.
Commander A F M Enamul Hassan, (E), psc, BN joined Bangladesh Navy on 01 January1999 and was commissioned in Engineering Branch in 2001. He got his BSc (Engg) degree in Mechanical from BUET. He did Marine Engineering Specialization Course from INS SHIVAJI, India and Marine Propulsion Control Technology Course from Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, Pune, India. Commander Enam has completed staff course from DSC&SC Mirpur and also obtained the Masters in Defence Studies from BUP. Presently he is undergoing Ms Course in Mechanical Engineering under MIST. He served in various capacities in dockyards, establishments and training institutes. He has also served in various ships as Engineer Officer ranging from smaller ships to frigate. He did UN mission in Ivory Coast as staff officer of sector Headquarters. Presently, Commander Enam is appointed as Deputy General Manager (Planning and Design) at DEW Ltd, Narayanganj. He is happily married and blessed with a daughter and a son.
Lt Cdr Mohammad Khurshed Alam,(L),BN took over the duties of the Officer In Charge(Planning & Design) on 17 August 2015. Born in 14 October 1968, he joined Bangladesh Navy on 14 July 1987. Lt Cdr Alam was commissioned in the Electrical branch of Bangladesh Navy on 01 Jan 1990. He did his graduation from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in the Electrical & Electronics Engineering discipline. and obtained a Second Class . In 1999 he went to UK & Germany for Operation & Maintenance Training of PAXMAN Engine. He has done Navy Missile Maintenance Course from 2002 to 2003 in PRC. He completed CEFPA from Alliance Francies,Chittagong, Bangladesh. Later he specialized in Long Electrical from BNS SHAHEED MOAZZAM, Kaptai, Chittagong Hill District. He completed his Junior Staff Course from Bangladesh Naval Academy,Chittagong. He obtained a First Class in Masters of Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering & Technology. Now he is doing Ph D in same university.
He served onboard various ships and craft of Bangladesh Navy as the Electrical Officer ,Engineer Officer and Missile Officer. He also served as the OIC Gyro Shop of BN Dockyard, the Base Electrical Officer of Khulna. He was a Staff Officer of the COMCHIT, Radar Engineer in BNS ULKA. He was an instructor in the Engineering School , F A C school of Bangladesh Navy. He also served as Maintenance Engineer in MRP & MRV project under Home Ministry.
He served in UN Mission in Ivory Coast as Move Control Officer (Franco Phone) in 2007 to 2008. He also performed as Military Observer duties in D R Congo and Central African Republic in 2013 to 2014. He visited several countries across the globe. He is member/life fellow of Institute of Engineer’s,Bangladesh(IEB-F9196), Army Golf Club(AGC-M1241), Old Cadet Association of Sylhet(OCAS 154),International Jeans Defence etc.
Lt Cdr Alam is married to Doctor Asma Ferdowsi Rini, BCS Health by profession, and father of a son and a daughter; both of them are students. His hobby includes reading science books, travelling, swimming and playing golf.
Lieutenant S M Noor Niaz, (S), BN (P No-2337) was born on 17 October 1992 and joined Bangladesh Naval Academy on 10 Jan 2010 as an officer cadet. He was commissioned on 01 Dec 2011.He did his basic course from School of Logistics & Management (SOLAM), Khulna and various schools of BNS ISSA KHAN & BNS SHAHEED MOAZZAM. Lieutenant Md Abdul Mannan, (SD)(S), BN (P No 2059) was born in 12 June 1966 and joined Bangladesh Navy in 15 January 1986. He was commissioned in the supply Branch of Bangladesh Navy in 01 July 2009. He was served various naval Ships and establishments. He has also served Defence Wing, Embassy of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh, Beijing China. He is happily married and blessed one son and one daughter.
LT. Commander. (Retd) Mohammad Rezwan Reza, (SD),(E) BN has served as special duty (SD) list officer in Engineering Branch Bangladesh Navy. For more than 29 years including 18 years commissioned service, he joined Bangladesh Navy on 1979 Direct entry Artificer and commissioned in Engineering Branch on 1989. He did Diploma in Engineering from Bangladesh Technical Education Board and has been trained of leadership, senior human resource management, character building, inter personal skill and number of professional and academic subjects beside the regular military training. He served as Engineering officer onboard in different Naval ships & crafts and as motor transport officer of different Naval base. He also works in NHO and course officer of Dockyard & Engineering Works Ltd. Narayangonj. At present he is serving at DEW Ltd as Deputy Chief Engineer (Mechanical). He got foreign training from Singapore and China on MTU and B&W Engine maintenance and operation. Engr. S.M. Rashidul Hasan is a Naval Architect. He has completed his B.Sc in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) in 2007. Since after his graduation he has been engaged in the ship design and building industry of Bangladesh. In 2010 he went to Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg, Sweden and completed his M.Sc in Naval Architecture in 2012. At present, he is also continuing his Ph.D Degree (Part Time) at BUET. Before joining DEW he served as Naval Architect at the leading ship design and building company of Bangladesh, especially at Marine House Ltd., Chittagong Dry Dock Ltd. His expertise covers the area of ship design, optimization, energy efficiency, estimation, project management, etc. At DEW, he serves as Executive Engineer at Planning & Design Department.
Engr. Md Tyebul Islam is a Naval Architect. He has completed his B.Sc in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) in 2007. After his graduation he joined Western Marine Shipyard, Chittagong (a leading shipbuilding industry in Bangladesh) as Naval Architect under design department. In 2011 he moved to Jurong Shipyard Pte ltd, Singapore, and another leading shipyard in the world. He was working with engineering team for 4 years. In 2015 he came back to Bangladesh and joined again Western Marine Shipyard, Chittagong as AGM in design department. In 2016 he joined with DEW as Executive engineer at planning and design department. His expertise covers the area of ship design, production design, fabrication consequences, optimization, estimation, project management, etc. He has worked with classification societies like GL, DNV, LR, BV, and IRS. He was directly involved with 8×5200 DWT Multipurpose container Vessel for Germany, 1x 4100 DWT Multipurpose container vessel for Denmark, 2x 450 POB world class accommodation right built by Jurong shipyard for North sea. During his last period in western Marine he handled 6×8000 DWT Mini Bulk carriers for JSW steel, India the largest ever to be built by Bangladesh.
Engr. Md. Shohid has 06 years experience in shipbuilding, repair and maintenance work. He joined in DEW, Bangladesh Navy as an Assistant Engineer on 19 December 2012. He passed H.S.C & S.S.C from Noakhali Zilla School and College. He did B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET). He is a member of Institute of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB). He served in DEW Ltd as assistant officer in charge of Planning and Designing department. He also works as project officer of various new building and repairing job of different inland and sea going vessel of Mongla Port Authority (MPA), BIWTC, BIWTA. Currently he works as project officer of Meghduth (MPA). He has sound Knowledge in tender process, evaluation, contract agreement and project implementation planning.
Engr. Md. Abdur Razzak is a Naval Architect, studied from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET). He has 02 years of experience in shipbuilding, repair and maintenance work. He joined in DEW Ltd. as Assistant Engineering on 01 January 2011. He is a Member of Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB). Engr.Md Mosharaf Hossain is an electrical engineer. He joined DEW Ltd an Enterprise of Bangladesh Navy as an Assistant engineer (Electrical, Radio and Radar section) on 21th July 2013.He completed his B.Sc (hons) in electrical and electronic engineering from Green University of Bangladesh (GUB).He has a sound knowledge on various types of motor, Generator, H.T Switch Gear, L.T Switch Gear, Distribution Panel Board, Electrical and Mechanical machinery troubleshooting and maintenance. Through his 07(seven) years service he achieved the confidence on electrical line diagram and its installation in different kinds of ships and power plant. Engr. Mahadi Hasan is a Mechanical Engineer. He did his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET). He has 04 years experience in industrial side (Cement & salt industry) as a maintenance engineer. He joined in DEW, Bangladesh Navy as an Assistant Engineer on September 2014. He serves in DEW Ltd as Assistant Engineer at ICE Shop. He complete the national training course on “Ultrasonic Testing Level-1” held at Atomic energy Centre. He works as a project officer of new construction of 04 in No Pontoon (Large) for Bangladesh Coast Guard. He has previous experience in maintenance & repair work of different Diesel Engine, Generator, Evaporator, Boiler, Press filter, compressor, crane, belt conveyor, screw conveyor, wheel loader, vibrator, centrifuge, & different type of NC machineries.
Engr. Palash Kumar Sarker is a Mechanical Engineer. He did his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET).
